Public transport concessions for tertiary students

From 15 July 2018, full-time tertiary students and Limited Full-time students attending Massey's Wellington campus will be eligible for a 25% discount on public transport.

The 25% discount applies to:

  • peak-time bus fares (via Snapper card)
  • 10 trip train tickets (via sticker on student ID)

How to get the 25% discount

To qualify for the discount, you must be a full-time student. The Campus Info team on the Wellington campus (located in Student Central) can validate your status and/or apply the sticker to your student ID card.

Bus

To qualify for the 25% discount on peak-time bus fares, you need to register on the Snapper Portal.

Once you have registered, visit the Campus Info team to have your full-time student status validated.

The discount will be available on your Snapper card within three working days.

Train/Ferry

To qualify for the 25% discount on 10-trip tickets, take your student ID to the Campus Info team. They will verify your eligibility and place a Tertiary Concession sticker on your student ID card.

You will need to present this when you purchase your train or ferry Tertiary 10-trip Ticket.

If you do not yet have a student ID card, you will need to order it online. Once you receive your card, take it to the Campus Info team to receive the Tertiary Concession sticker.
