Other eligibility criteria and conditions of entry

  • Applicants must be prepared to enter into a residential agreement with Massey Manawatū Halls or Massey Auckland Te Ohanga Village in 2018 as outlined in section 4 of the application section.
  • All scholarship allocations will be determined by Massey Manawatū Halls or Massey Auckland Te Ohanga Village based upon the criteria outlined in these terms.  As scholarships are limited in number, not all candidates meeting these criteria will necessarily be awarded a scholarship.
  • Massey Manawatū Halls or Massey Auckland Te Ohanga Village reserves the right to not award scholarships in a year if no candidates are considered suitable by the scholarship selection panel.
  • Scholarship amounts are paid in New Zealand dollars and will be in the form of a credit on the successful candidates' residential account with Campus Living Village (CLV) Massey Manawatū Halls or Massey Auckland Te Ohanga Village only.
  • Scholarship recipients must be enrolled as a Massey University full-time student (0.8 EFTS over 32 weeks) and must reside in the accommodation for the full year the scholarship has been awarded.  Part-time and distance learning students are not eligible.
  • If a scholarship recipient leaves the accommodation, withdraws from their course of study, leaves university altogether or otherwise breaches the specific criteria of eligibility as listed above, their scholarship will be terminated with immediate effect and a lump sum charge will be applied to the residential account on a pro-rata basis and will be required to be settled in full.
  • Scholarships may be terminated if Massey Manawatū Halls or Massey Auckland Te Ohanga Village deems the following: unsatisfactory academic performance (such as falling below the required academic standards to continue at university) or the recipient acts in a way so as to bring Massey Manawatū Halls or Massey Auckland Te Ohanga Village communities or Massey University into disrepute.
  • All recipients of the Massey Manawatū Halls or Massey Auckland Te Ohanga Village scholarships are expected to participate in their hall or village community.  On receipt of the scholarship they will be expected to meet with the Village Manager and/or General Manager to confirm their role in the community.  They may be required from time to time to assist with reasonable promotion of accommodation and publicity events and activities.
  • Massey Manawatū Halls or Massey Auckland Te Ohanga Village accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the grant of a scholarship to a scholarship recipient.  Applicants should seek independent financial advice prior to lodging their application for a scholarship.
