The Doctorate is the foremost type of degree offered by a University. It is therefore a University level qualification, as opposed to a College or Faculty level qualification. At Massey the governance of the Doctorate is the responsibility of the University Doctoral Research Committee (DRC), which is supported operationally by the Graduate Research School (GRS). The DRC promulgates and assures the academic standards applying to all research aspects of doctoral degrees. It meets monthly throughout the year, except in January.
