soil-earth-science-collage.jpg The Soil and Earth Sciences Group at the Institute of Agriculture and Environment undertakes research into soil and earth processes in the global environment.

Soil is a major natural resource on the earth’s surface. We research soil formation, classification and mapping; its physical, chemical, biological, and fertility properties; and its use and management.

Soil and earth sciences are essential for the conservation and protection of our natural heritage, the development of sound environmental management practices, and the long-term sustainability of our natural environment.
