The School of Food and Nutrition is located across Massey's three campuses: Manawatū (Palmerston North), Albany (Auckland) and Wellington. We work closely with food and health industries in New Zealand and overseas. We take pride in our reputation as a successful partner with industry, providing first-class science research and tertiary education.
The global food and health industries are undergoing major changes. People increasingly view the interaction between food, nutrition and lifestyle as central to a long and healthy life. The resulting market-led development of innovative products, and the advanced technologies required to make them, will depend more and more on the multidisciplinary application of scientific knowledge. We help industry and society to achieve better outcomes through applied and relevant scholarship.
The School of Food and Nutrition has a unique ability to integrate expertise across the entire food and health value chain. Our comprehensive, multi-disciplinary teams offer research clients innovative, cutting-edge research and development opportunities. These teams provide an introduction to the wider expertise and facilities at Massey University.
The school plays a key role in creating, maintaining and disseminating knowledge. It is a source of high-class graduates who are creative independent thinkers and problem-solvers. Teaching, learning and creating new knowledge are fundamental to our scholarship and excellence. An ethos of creativity permeates the institute at all levels, and is the very core of what we are.
