Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the term given to granting credit based on formal and informal learning. Credit can be awarded for completed tertiary qualifications from Massey or other institutions, for incomplete tertiary qualifications from other institutions, and from informal learning. It can be applied to your proposed current study with Massey University and will be awarded at an appropriate level for the content of the qualifying course.
You can apply for RPL when you apply for admission into your chosen programme of study.

When you apply for RPL based on formal learning and you have paid the application fee, your application will be assessed to determine if you are eligible for cross-credit or transfer of credit:
When you apply for RPL based on informal learning and you have paid the application fee, your application will be assessed to acknowledge relevant and appropriate skills and knowledge obtained through training, work experience and life experience. For example:
